Where the story began
Linux Academy
Founded by Anthony D. James in 2012, Linux Academy grew into one of the leading names in hands-on cloud and technology training. The company raised $9.1 million across two venture-capital rounds and earned three consecutive appearances on the Inc. 5000—ranking No. 78 in 2017, No. 229 in 2018, and No. 521 in 2019. Its first two appearances placed it within the Inc. 500.
Linux Academy helped hundreds of thousands of people build practical technology skills before being acquired by A Cloud Guru on December 16, 2019.
The platform is no longer active, but its approach to education—and many of the relationships formed there—continue to shape the work that followed.
